On October 8, 2024, the 5th Forum on Vehicles with Alternative Drives and Solutions for a Sustainable Development in Transport took place at the Antunović Congress Centre in Zagreb. The event gathered industry leaders, policymakers, and researchers to discuss key challenges in transport decarbonization and explore innovative solutions driving the green transition.
Professor Emeritus Frano Barbir, a distinguished representative of the Croatian Hydrogen Association, presented the ZEAS project during the conference. His presentation showcased ZEAS as a forward-looking project aimed at introducing hydrogen-powered ships in the Adriatic region, addressing the maritime industry’s role in achieving sustainability and reducing emissions.
The ZEAS project embodies the transition to greener maritime technologies by focusing on hydrogen as a clean energy solution. During his presentation, Prof. Barbir detailed the project’s objectives, highlighting its potential to significantly reduce the environmental footprint of maritime transport while fostering innovation and collaboration among regional stakeholders.
